To R.R. of America Inc. -2- R2/G21/6/21 Contd. me a very bad opinion of the quality of their productions. To a large extent I must withdraw my early impression, whether it is my fault or their fault, or possibly a little of each, but I am pleased to say that I have been able to alter my opinion, and I think there is reason to suppose that they would serve you well. With further reference to the switchbox, one would naturally suppose that it was the duty of the people who made the dynamo to supply this. This we must leave to you. We do not remember very well the Bijur switches, but the impression is that they were of simple and neat appearance, but not thoroughly good and lasting. Things, however, have changed recently, and the type that we suppose would be adopted would be the barrel controller type having two drums and lock effectively acting on both. On this fitting there should also be a press button for the instrument board light, and the connection socket for the portable lamp. Further notes and drawing by next mail. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
