For the attention of Mr. West.

Dear Sirs,

We have heard from Mr. Manwaring with regard to the new light-weight A.T. Speedometer in that one of the small screws securing the bearing jewels came adrift.

We have this instrument here for repair, and we would report that the jewel screw had been originally locked into position by means of slightly closing the tube, thereby pinching the screw. In this instrument, however, the screw, we feel sure, had been moved, because it was found re-adjusted by means of black wax, and the clock was loose, owing to it not having been put back securely, when some alterations had been effected to the winder at Derby.

We are, however, putting these matters right, and we can assure you that the jewel screws are always most effectively locked in their correct position.

In the new zinc base alloy casting, when we make the new light-weight instrument, we shall use a second locking screw, to finally lock the bottom jewel.

Always at your service,
We beg to remain,
Yours faithfully,
For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD.,

Director.
