SHOCKDAMPER MOUNTING, BUMP BUFFER AND MAIN SPRING, MODIFIED FRONT END OF FRAME. B.111.

Herewith is FD. {Frank Dodd - Bodies} 86 which completes the information required for the modified front end of the frame for Bentley 111.

The rubber buffer of FD. {Frank Dodd - Bodies} 12 and its enclosing cup are used, with the modification incorporated in that scheme in detailing, of moulding the rubber to a separate plate to make this operation easier, but the pressed cups for the bump buffer have been made more shallow and should therefore be easier to make.

The gusset, front crossmember (pan) flange and closing plate have been altered slightly from FD. {Frank Dodd - Bodies} 76, but F. {Mr Friese} Dept. have been told of these alterations as they have been made, and their details should, therefore, be correct.

The shock damper has not been altered by this scheme.

The main spring has a rating corresponding to 6.500" static deflection for a wheel load of 800 lbs. A stiffer spring of 6.000" static deflection can be provided if required, as the calculations for this have been made.
