GRY{Shadwell Grylls} X1209 Millwrights from EJJ/JV c to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Order No.816 EJJ/JV4/MM6.10.36 RE: NEW CHASSIS DYNAMOMETER BUMPER EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. We send you herewith a list of requirements to enable the Experimental Department to run the Dynamometer section on the above job. 1. Chassis Anchorage. The Chassis Anchorage should be to particulars as shown on J.7226.A and B, and H.8817 Arrangement No.10. herewith, and details as shown thereon will require making with the exception of the existing structure which is to be found in the Bumper House. Suitable chains with hooks will require making for each chassis to anchor same, similar to those already existing on the Chassis Dynamameter. We also send you herewith J.715 giving particulars of 4 brackets which we have ordered and which will require machining up and fitting to the Crossrails for the purpose of holding the front wheels. 2. Water Connections. Water Connections will require rigging up for the Dynamometer Radiator Cooling and Axle Cooling similar to the existing Cooling on the other Bumpers. 3. Exhaust Connections. An Exhaust Pipe carried through the roof will be required complete with 'Slip-on Fish Tail' as in the Dynamometer house. 4. Petrol Installation. Please have the existing tank and bracket outside No.18 Test house fitted up on the wall facing the Car wash together with the ladder for the same. The tank will require fitting with wing pump and connections for filling up purposes from the barrels. Please inform us if you will require any material ordering for this job.
