Messrs Borg & Beck,
Tachbrook Road,
Leamington Spa,
Warwickshire.

For the attention of Mr. Barker.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming the visit of the writer to your Works yesterday, we are arranging to send back to you all 10.A.3. clutches delivered for production purposes. You will replace the eyebolts in these, by others in S.82 material, and with turned threads, and will build all further clutches to be delivered to us with these stronger bolts.

We agree that it would not be wise at this stage to increase the diameter of the threaded portion of the bolt because of the danger of weakening the cover.

Regarding the heat treatment which should be given to the bolts, our production people will be writingyou further on this matter.

We are issuing an order to you for a further 11.A.3. clutch with green thrust springs, red damper springs, moulded facings, and S.82 eyebolts.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE, Ltd.
