W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Esq.,

Derby.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I have opened your letter of the 26th inst. addressed to Mr. Ricardo who is at present away on a short holiday, though we expect him to return early next week.

As I understand you and Mr. Hives wish to see Mr. Ricardo personally, I am afraid it would be unsafe to fix the proposed visit for Tuesday next the 3rd October. I can only suggest that Mr. Ricardo should write to you immediately upon his return to the Works.

Yours sincerely,

O.{Mr Oldham} THORNYCROFT.
