X2065 EFCl/T. 14th Sept. 1926. Mr. G.R.N.Minchin, 50, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. Dear Mr. Minchin, You were good enough to promise to let us have if or when required, new positive elements for our FA.11 cells. We should be pleased to take advantage of this offer to the extent of having two new positive elements, one to use immediately and one as a spare. We have been able to keep the battery going satisfactorily by the insertion of the additional glass separator tubes, with the exception of one cell which is particularly bad - much worse than the rest - and we would like to be able to give this cell a new start with a new positive element and additional tube separators. There is reason to believe that the other cells will be able now to continue for a good time without trouble. Yours sincerely, x4652 P.S. We have formed an impression that the rapid burning away of platinum points on a few of the Phantoms, due to the presence of oil, is more serious for the first few thousand miles than afterwards. I think perhaps yourown experience will confirm this. We shall be glad to hear what you have to say about it. | ||
