W.A.Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, Thanks for your letter of the 28th inst. As regards your first paragraph, after our experience in the past with the pumps supplied to you I am afraid I cannot feel enthusiastic about anything, even the G.3 diaphragm. We have, however, found that for ordinary production at any rate, the G.3 type is comparatively trouble free. As I have previously stated, I do not know of any diaphragm material which is 100% perfect, but I have no reason at all to think that there will be even as much as 1% service troubles with the G3 type. On the other hand, this does not necessarily mean that I am prepared to guarantee there will be less than 1%, as there are other things which cause trouble, chiefly noise. Yours sincerely, (Signature) | ||
