X.1627. RE SPECIFICATION OF TEST OF LUCAS DYNAMOS AND CUT-OUTS. X 3014

We have now completed our investigations on the six Lucas dynamos and switchboxes borrowed from the stores for the above purpose and we are therefore now returning these.

The numbers of the dynamos being returned are :-
R.1276, R.1318, R.1223, R.1331, R.1293. You will remember that as stated in our EFC4/T21.4.20, the one dynamo that did not pass our specification was R.1293, we consider that this dynamo should be returned to Messrs. Lucas as we have demonstrated that this is low in voltage which causes it to be late in cutting in.

The numbers of the switchboxes now returned are:-
19, 29, 91, 129, 14267, 15770. You will recall that as reported in our EFC4/T30.4.20, only one of these namely, 19, really passed our specification but owing to the slight divergence of 14267 and 15770, we agreed to pass these two, the other three we consider should be returned to be made to reasonably comply with our specification.

We should like to hear from you at your convenience as to how this matter is getting on and as to whether Messrs. Lucas have agreed to our specification.

EFC.
