X52410 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY2/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 10.6.25. "INDIA" PLUS F.W.B. FRONT SPRINGS. Referring to R2/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 5.6.25. the springs which have been delivered, namely, 3 - 600 lbs. 3 - 650 lbs. are in accordance with Mr.Royce's latest requirements excepting only that the camber under normal load is 1/2" instead of 3/4". The springs described in Dn5/BH. 10.6.25. which have been passed into the Experimental Dept. are therefore satisfactory with the sole exception of the camber under normal load; this will be .250" less than Mr.Royce's latest requirements. The question as to the 25% increase is perfectly clear betwixt us and West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, as West WitteringHenry Royce's home town definitely specify the free camber and camber under normal load, thereby fixing definitely the deflection they require under a given load on the spring. In this case, therefore, any differences as to how West WitteringHenry Royce's home town express the increase of stiffness as compared with our method of expressing it at Derby do not come into the matter at all.
