X7060 To E/PSN. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. S/KW. 24. 7. 34. Phantom II Valve Gear. We have tried a set of double taper steel tubular push rods in Ph. II, but did not succeed in raising the valve bounce speed thereby. These push rods were 2 1/2 times as stiff as the present standard, and in view of this we do not think that any useful purpose could be served by proceeding with LeC.3938.
