With reference to Ps7/Cm 6.10.26. We quite appreciate that there are still shocks to be felt upon the steering wheel with the .940 steering. We also appreciate that the 1500 lbs. side steering tube springs are breaking in service.

We are therefore developing a scheme which reduces the stress in the 1500 lbs. springs and at the same time are arranging for a better type of 1000 lbs. spring which, if it proves successful on test, we may recommend it for use in extreme cases where a customer demands insulation from road shocks before anything else.

With reference to replacing a 1:125 steering with the object of curing high speed steering wobbles, we have no information from any of our tests which would lead us to suppose that this is likely to have an appreciable effect upon 'shimmy'.
