16.G.IV.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has promised this car to R.{Sir Henry Royce} by the end of next week.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} has instructed the following.

ENGINE.
Large pin crank with balance weights.

We have a set of balance weights in the stores (removed from 18.G.IV.) to sch.1402. We have a large pin crankshaft and bottom half on the cast iron unit C.9. Will you remove this crankshaft and machine it for these balance weights to sch.1402. Its flywheel may stay with it. The parts then required are Japan connecting rods for large pin crank. There are four E.56097/8 in the stores finished and a number partly finished. This will leave the C.I. unit derelict, but it might be built up with the parts taken off 16.G.IV. + standard con. rods.

CAST EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
Will you please fit this with pipe to expansion box as on 18.G.IV.

CLUTCH.
The clutch requires re-lining with R.A.D.I. radially woven material, unless the one off C.9. is used.

CONTROLS IN COLUMN.
These rattle and should be rectified.

RATTLES UNDER SCUTTLE.
There are various loose fittings under the scuttle which rattle. Please secure.

SLIPPER DRIVE.
This appears to be incorrectly set, please check loads.
