Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Arrowsmith. We wish to confirm that we have asked you to put in hand a Bentley Speedometer and a Standard Bentley Tachometer, to suit a chassis having the following special gearing and tyres. SPEEDOMETER. Wheels - actual rolling circumference 95 ins. Axle ratio - 2.92. Speedo. drive ratio on gearbox, same as 25 H.P. Rolls-Royce. To read to 110 M.P.H. TACHOMETER. Drive is 1 1/2 times engine speed. Maximum reading 4,000 R.P.M. We will tell you in a day or so what the drive ends are like and what will be the cable lengths. Unless we let you know to the contrary we shall need no dial contraction.
