(4) The clutch pedal, and even the brake pedal are much too high - uncomfortable to actuate and causes faulty working of the clutch. Are these set purposely high? If so, a distinct advantage is gained as regards clutch clearance, brake pedal movement, etc. At the same time, it would not be tolerated by drivers of our cars.

(5) Very slight "boom" and "groan" periods on the road, which appear to emanate from the exhaust silencer. The silencer noise for high engine speed running also seems rather marked.

(6) There is a nasty engine "whine" which takes place running at about 40/45 m.p.h., which appears to be due to engine gears or dynamo.

(7) Engine starting at all times appears to be a particularly good and effective feature, apart from the fact that one can get the car into use immediately.

(8) Carburation.- Luffing up trouble takes place occasionally under some acceleration conditions, to the extent at times that popping back in the carburetter takes place. The consumption does not seem very good, and roughly about 12 m.p.g. were obtained.

(9) The cooling water temperature varied considerably, and at times reached 212 and again quickly dropped, without any apparent consistency as to the cause, except that the symptoms would rather show a shortage of water in the system.

(10) The brakes seem progressive and effective, but require rather high foot pressure.

(11) The axle had rather a disagreeable "sing" 55/58 m.p.h.

(12) Steering fairly stable and free from "kicks" and joggles, but "control" did not seem comfortable. On even-surface roads one appears to be continually correcting, to keep a steady course. The lower gear of the steering also seems rather to aggravate this trouble.
