| Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Date 11/9/30. Page 4. in both instances, we have been able to detect very little difference. We include on the calibration strip of the tank the approximate position of the bottom bell in relation to the zero mark. 2. We regret to hear that the air pump tube has, in some instances, become blocked up and we have not yet experienced that. However, it is a very easy matter to increase the size of this tube, and we are accordingly making up a tank unit with what we consider a suitable size, for your approval. We could bring this modification in at any moment should you so decide. If it were possible to get hold of one of the blocked tubes we could possibly find the cause of the trouble, which would enable us to obviate any difficulty in future, even with the larger tube. We can assure you that we are treating both the points to which you have drawn our attention with the most earnest consideration, but with regard to No. 1 we fear there is no eventual permanent solution other than the reduction of the scale in order to raise zero about 1/8". Yours faithfully, H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} HOBSON, LTD., [Signature] Joint Managing Director. | ||
