| - 2 - We anticipate improvements in appearance, stability, shimmy, and ease of steering, and we know from earlier tests that mileage is satisfactory. Since cars aggregating probably 100,000 yearly have used the 32 x 6.75 instead of the 33 x 6.75 for the last year, it is quite useless for us to oppose the cancellation of the 21" wheel, since we and the large Pierce-Arrow (now purely mythical) are the only users of the 33 x 6.75. Since this cancellation of the 21" wheel will probably spread to England I think Derby will be very interested in getting first-hand information of the proposal. It will be referred to the Tire and Rubber Association this month and with possible slight modifications will be adopted as standard in all probability by the end of the year. The most certain thing about it appears to be the discontinuance of the 21" wheel except on Ford and Chevrolet. It is improbable that stocks of our present tire (33 x 6.75) will be carried in wide distribution after 1928, because of two factors, the necessity for economy in the rubber trade and the very small proportion of accidental tire damage on this size of tire. OY Maurice Olley NOTE: It will be noticed that the 31 x 5.25 tire used on the 20 hp is also cancelled. MO r {Sir Henry Royce} / | ||
