What you mention as 14-B is a purely experimental modification of the #14 metal containing 5 tin and 15 antimony in place of 10 tin and 15 antimony. So far there is no definite information on this, although it appears to have possibilities.

It would appear that Buick would go into production on #14 material within the next few months on two bases: increased life and decreased cost.

Incidentally it is rumored that the material is not so hot in steel shell replaceable liners, but is rather startling when centrifugally cast direct into the rod.

This proposition is just another one where refinement in handling technique has made a good thing out of what had heretofore been considered to be mediocre.

Doubtless you can procure white metal of this composition, but should you have any trouble, we will be glad to help you out.

Very truly yours,
CADILLAC MOTOR CAR CO.
