BENTLEY 11.A. ---------- MARTINDALE File We ought to obtain some advance information as to the behaviour of brakes with iron drums and aluminium shoes when the hand brake is coupled to the rear foot brake shoes. We have been rather banking on aluminium drums to justify this arrangement. We want to know the liability of the car to run away when parked on a gradient after some hard braking. There may also be a tendency to seize on. It would appear to be quite easy to couple up the hand brake to the rear foot brake shoes in a temporary way, on a Bentley. We should like to use the existing C.I. Drums on Bentley 11.A. and think an experiment would enable us to decide whether the present section is good enough. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
