R.R. 493A (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23). J.H., D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 796 Expl. No. 1555 REF: HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG25.10.23. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. COMPARATIVE TESTS WITH DIFFERENT GRADES OF PETROL TO DETERMINE ANY DIFFERENCE IN 'LOADING UP' OF MIXTURE STRENGTH DURING LOW SPEED FULL THROTTLE WORK. Tests carried out on 4-Goshawk-11 on Stanton Hill. Method. Car ran at full throttle at 10 m.p.h. - a distance of approximately 200 yds. Speed was then allowed to increase and any effect of loading up noticed by the ability of the car to pick up from 10 m.p.h. Tests carried out with engine water at 55°C and at 80°C. Shell No.1. Water at 50°C. Loading up fairly bad. Actual misfiring takes place. Water at 80°C. Loading up very slight. No misfiring, slight carburation 'lumpiness'. Shell Mex. Water at 50°C. Slight loading up. No misfiring. Water at 80°C. Loading up almost unnoticeable. Red Line. Water at 50°C. Very slight loading up. Water at 80°C. No loading up. DETONATIONS. Red Line - None. Shell No.1. - Slight. Shell Mex. - Bad. contd:- | ||
