Petrol Pumps etc. on Bentley Chassis.

With regard to the petrol feed pipe between the pump and the carburetters, we think this should only be 5/16" diameter up to the tee joint on the pipe line joining the two floatchambers, thereby maintaining the resistance to flow fairly even through the system, and also avoiding the use of larger unions and pipe bends on the floatchamber lids which would foul the throttle control, and also avoiding any alteration to the floatchamber lids called for.

With regard to the filter bowl, it is agreed that the large one should be retained. As we have pointed out this filter bowl never becomes empty even if the engine is run to a standstill on a dry tank, and it will only be emptied in the event of someone removing it and deliberately replacing it so.

With regard to the suction pipe from the pump to the tank, we have an improved scheme ready for carrying this pipe along on the other side of the chassis remote from the exhaust silencer.
