? X1812 a.{Mr Adams} EFC. 15.9.27. LEAKAGE TESTS ON SPARKING PLUGS TO BE USED WITH FUEL CONTAINING LEAD. The twelve sparking plugs, 6 K.L.G. and 6 Champion, submitted to us have been given a preliminary test. On each plug the maximum [handwritten: available d.c.] voltage was applied, i.e. that voltage which almost produced a spark at the plug electrodes, but in no case could a deflection be detected on the micro-ammeter. The applied voltages ranged from about 570 volts to 1000 volts. These plugs are now handed to the intention being that they come back for retesting after they have been used on the aero engine.
