To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} FHS Cricklewood. Complaints Electrical Phantom III. Five cases of dynamo failure have come into the depot in the last two days. The cause has been traced to faulty fuses. In each case the fuse wire has been loose at one end of the cap. I am enclosing one which the glass tube was broken purposely to show the faulty connection. This looks like being serious without precaution over the fuses is taken. Short circuiting in the foot switch has occurred in two cases on 30 HP due to the cover screw fouling the serrated cam, causing a short. The screws holding the cover requires shortening.
