| X6055 Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.11/ADL5.1.32. 20/25 EXIDE BATTERY IN MOULDED EBONITE CASE TYPE 6SM7-IL. We have two of these batteries on test in the Experimental Dept. fitted to exptl. cars. Both of the moulded lids on these two batteries have cracked. The first one occurred accidentally on 18-GIV previous to going to France; the second one has been cracked about due to the cable terminal fouling the lid{A. J. Lidsey} when the lid{A. J. Lidsey} was screwed down. We are taking up the question of the cable terminal fouling the lid{A. J. Lidsey}, with the Drawing Office, and in the meantime will you please obtain for us from the Chloride Co. two replacement moulded lids for these batteries. In connection with this we might mention that in October of last year ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AS26.10.31, we asked for a replacement lid{A. J. Lidsey} which we regret to say we have not yet received. We did not press for this lid{A. J. Lidsey} at the time because the car went to France very soon after the note was sent, and the car returning back again has reminded us that we have not yet received this lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
