Regarding the oil on the servo: neither the gear box or engine are ever washed down with paraffin. So I can't account for the presence of oil on the servo. Are you quite sure that it wasn't engine oil? I always find that however well a joint is made, unless it filled up with jointing compound oil usually manages to creep through.
