Y51 MYTH Petrol Tank. ------------------- We attach to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy the original of PL.653 - Petrol Filler Cap. The above scheme shews the petrol filler cap for the Myth. We have chosen this design with a view to keeping down the weight and the cost. We shew the cap held in position by three pins in slots, similar to electric light bayonets. As a production job, however, we should prefer to die cast a locking ring similar to the Austin 8. The cap is of sheet metal, and chromium plated. Again on production, we propose to press the car monogram on the top and have a ring of straight knurling round the sides. The actual length of the Bowden cable should be decided experimentally, with the body and wings in position. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J.
