us greater duration of opening on the inlet valve.
We might also gain from a greater lift on the exhaust valve. A test with the 114º shaft A.{Mr Adams} shewed that if the exhaust valve clearance was increased to .030 a drop of 5 B.H.P. ensued at 3000 R.P.M.
