Re Gyroscopic Non - skid . Your TBB1/L22312

I have not examined this device officially but happened to see a demonstration accidentally some time ago. Probably you know the arrangement. It is a flywheel on a kind of universal joint which is fixed in front of the engine, either on the front of the crank-shaft or in place of the fan. The one I saw was fixed on the crankshaft and while I was watching the very thing happened which I expected, that is, the flywheel sheared off the key which held it, or broke off the end of the crankshaft. I do not think the device is effective and I should be very sorry indeed to see one fitted to a Rolls - Royce chassis.
