Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gardiner (Chateauroux & Paris.) 200a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}5/R.8.2.38. As per our telegram, we are sending you a complete exhaust system, and a pair of 10 x 43 gears which got damaged on dynamometer, but which, after re-lapping, ran two or three thousand miles in 6.B.IV before the new pair was put in for France. This is the only set of gears with this ratio we have at the Works. If they survive the rest of the mileage, so much the better, but if they give any trouble, we should be able to manufacture a new pair in about ten days' time. Paris, of course, will have to set the gears for you. You should continue to use the Vacuum Hypoid oil. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
