X.2778 - RE ELECTRIC WIRING

I was very pleased to read Mr. Northey's appreciation of our efforts in arranging the electrical wiring and fittings when compared with the Lucas arrangements on 1 EX. I am anxious to see the results on 2 EX.
Mr. Northey says, however, that the armoured wire obtained from Glovers is larger than ever, and something to the effect that it is made fat with tow.
I lately came to the conclusion that our wiring would be neater if wires were used that were smaller in diameter over the insulation, and drawn into tubes and bound together with tape or corded where they cannot be enclosed.
Therefore, let Mr. Clark or someone go at once to Glovers and take this matter up to get an immediate supply of neater wire. I will send a copy of this note to Mr. Claremont who will, no doubt, arrange for someone to see Mr. Clark or see the work to be done.
We want nothing but good strong mechanical material in the cable, plus a small amount of waterproof insulation to stand the very low voltage, viz.12, with some surging voltage (on a few wires) which has never been known to do
