We also agree to the bracket remaining as at present, and the effect of (2) being to make the packing washer .400" thicker. We suggest that this packing be made up of plate washers about .050" thick, and that with each subframe an excess of these be supplied.

These remarks apply to both chassis. Would Derby please put these modifications in hand.

(5) We shall set out a coachbuilder's print of the subframe telling how to use it, profiting by our experience with the experimental bodies. We shall expect Derby to add to this print as information comes through.

(6) We do not wish to have to provide a detachable front crossmember to the subframe, unless it is absolutely essential.
We agree that the gearbox must be capable of being removed without removing the unit. This would appear possible if the front end of the body were raised an inch or two by slacking the supporting bolts and jacking up. The instrument board connectings need not be disturbed.
We would be glad if HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} would tell us whether this can be done.
