Extract from Paris Showroom Report of 7th November (Srl/MLG.7.11.34.) Mr. Embiricos In this respect, Mr. Embiricos had a thorough good run in GAE-5, as he thought he could perhaps trade in his Phantom I, and get us to supply a 25 h.p. for his mother. His statement on returning from the trial run is as follows: "Very nice and quiet, well sprung in the front seats, but an absolute 'veau'". ***** Mr. Poberejsky. Who took delivery of his car GAE-2 last Saturday, returned it to us on the Monday morning, asking us to "put some more horse-power in it". Needless to say, we did our best before delivering it to him. He also describes the car as a "veau", which expression can only be translated as the famous English equivalent, viz., "gutless wonder". I consider this to be a very serious state of affairs, as the 25 h.p. has been a good seller in France, and I was hoping that the improved type 20/25 h.p. would enable us to successfully compete with the 30 h.p. Hispano Suiza, but this, of course, is quite out of the question. ***** | ||
