| To-BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Bensport Exhaust System. We send you herewith - LeC.3472 showing the rubber suspension for the tail pipe. This should be used in conjunction with the rubber suspension of the boxes LeC.3463 and LeC.3465. On this scheme we have made the tail pipe which runs underneath the axle detachable from the rear box, so that in the event of dismantling the rear axle or the petrol tank, it will not be necessary to drop the whole of the exhaust system. We have one limitation, which is the rebound of the axle. The maximum amount which can be allowed for is 4.25", but we understand from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} that the maximum amount obtained was 3.5", so in this respect we think we are alright. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} [Handwritten annotations]: X223 - Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Please see rubber connections are fitted to cars. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
