To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} c. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}4/BA.9.1.40. Distributor Drive lubrication. We send you herewith PD.481, which shows a special drilling of the Camshaft for lubrication of the distributer spiral. We are anxious to try this scheme, primarily; because it enables the present external pipe to be discarded in favour of the internal method of lubrication. Will you therefore endeavour to adapt this for trial on the new B.60 Unit No.6 and also on the rebuild of B.60.No.1. Both these engines are at present in the shop. Finally, we would point out that the above scheme is called for on the 2 litre (B.40) engine, parts of which have already been issued to you. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C.
