RR 239 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 461-8-12-24) MP 306975 X8710 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: E.F.C. Order No: WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}12 Customer's No: X8710 Paraffin waxed paper coil No P.W.P.5. We have now conducted high temperature bench tests on this coil (which was the coil used on 10EX for the test reported in WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}10) in the lab. The test procedure was to heat the coil in our electric oven up to 100°C and maintain it at that temperature for two hours, after which with the coil still at 106°C sparking tests under various conditions with a supply voltage of 12 were carried out using an external gap in series with the coil supply for the purposes of comparison, the H.T current discharging through the medium of a H.T.
