To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}8/AP.30.9.37 The incorporation of the vent plugs similar to those shown on ECD.90 is largely responsible for the improved cylinder blocks from a casting point of view as now produced in the Works with an appreciable reduction in percentage scrap. When casting, these vent plug holes release the gasses and to a great extent overcome the porosity hitherto experienced in our cylinder blocks. The actual modification ECD.90 is a machining modification to the vent plugs already in existence. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
