With reference to the 1" in length of the "Goshawk" which was under discussion, we have put the steering column back so that the front seats can be either to our dimensions, or to dimensions suggested by SP.{Mr Spinney} We think there is ample room for a suitable landaulet driving two passengers on the back seats, and one flap seat crossways, which is so often the compliment of a taxi. At a pinch a second flat seat can be used, but we do not recommend this for any great distance, as there would be insufficient leg room. It is intended that the width of these bodies shall only be sufficient for two passengers on the front and back seats. We were anxious that front seats should not be spoiled by cramping the driver too much, and it was for this reason that we suggested the economy of 1" in the padding or windows, or space between the back of the front seat or the front edge of the back seats. Providing the body is kept as low as possible there is no doubt about this small chassis making a car a good appearance, but a high or wide body would spoil the appearance of this small model, as it would certainly look stumpy. We are expecting that Derby will provide Contd. | ||
