CONTINENTAL PHANTOM.

We anticipate having the first complete car of this type in France about Jan. 30th. We propose for the first run to bring it to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence for you to approve. As soon as ever you are in agreement, it is desired that the car shall complete a 10,000 miles test as soon as possible because the Works have been instructed to proceed with a certain number of these cars so that they shall be ready in the early Spring for sale.

I propose bringing the car with Mr. Hancock who will carry on with the 10,000 miles test after we have been to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.

Three of four weeks later we shall have another car for France. This will be 12-EX but it will have fitted to it a large number of experimental parts a number of which it is not possible to get on to the sports car. These included :-
(1) Narrower wheels and hubs.
(2) Central oiling scheme.
(3) Low compression turbulent head.
(4) Side by side rear brakes.
(5) Modifications to rear axle and torque tube.
(6) Rubber engine mounting.
(7) Narrower radiator.
(8) Modification induction pipe.
(9) Stiffer crankshaft.

contd :-
