[Handwritten note] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/F.T. Will you please acknowledge this & explain that Rab will reply on his return. RHH W.A. Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. [Handwritten note in red ink] R - 17th. Dear Robotham, I have heard from Mr. Sidgreaves and he says that he can certainly put me up for a night and I am going to write and suggest Wednesday night, the 25th instant, if that is convenient to you. I should presumably arrive at the Works in time for lunch and would ask for you. I saw Charles Breeden recently and he said he was going to see you that day and that it would do no harm for us all to meet there but you might think otherwise. The Type 326 B.M.W. is interesting but it is heavier and has not the same performance as the others but it is more interesting technically. Mr. Sidgreaves says he wants to try it too, so if you want it for some time, it might mean my having to stay two nights. There is another point and that is I am rather short of petrol but I am hoping that when I take the car away again from you I should find the tank full and I think this would be a justifiable thing in everyone's interest. Yours sincerely, G.R.N. Minchin | ||
