To. [REDACTED].....From RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} HUB SERRATIONS With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}4/N.31.3.38., it has always been contended that the fitting of oversize wheel drivers into existing worn hubs is an impracticable proposition, due to the irregular wear encountered on serrations. In order to broach out the serrations at depots as suggested by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} however, it would be necessary to supply special expensive equipment, the cost of which could not be justified in relation to the quantities involved. We, therefore, propose that a small floating stock of hubs with .005 oversize serrations be maintained, worn hubs being returned to W. for re-broaching, in order to replenish this stock. RHC{R. H.
