25 HP. SYNCHRO MESH GEARBOX. Y8310.

We have carried out a dynamometer test on this gearbox fitted to 12-C4. Half an hour's running was done at full throttle on each gear with quarter hour intervals between each test to allow the gearbox to cool. Second, third, and top gears were run at 1500 R.P.M. and first gear at 2000 R.P.M. in this order.

At the beginning of the first run a small amount of oil came out of the breather hole in the selector shaft housing, but this did not happen again. On none of the tests was there any tendency for the gears to come out of mesh nor at any time did the gearbox get unduly hot.
