My dear Robotham,

I had lunch with Mr Sidgreaves last week and had a talk with him about my car. I told him that I was doing nothing, but was leaving myself entirely in your hands, until you were ready for me to send it up to Derby. I told him that I had tried removing the front mudguards and had found that it had made no difference in respect to the brake squealing. I also told him that I had noted the new cross member and bumper on Messrs.Fairey's and Hives' cars, which I should think steadied up the front end quite a lot, and, I should imagine, would help to cure the slow speed wheel wobble and headlamp flickering. I understood from him that he would consider giving instructions for these modifications to be made to my car when it is sent up to you.

I have had a letter from your London Office in regard to the fitting of new front mudguards and running boards, for which they quote a price of £46/10/0. I have told them that I feel that this figure is very high, and in view of the large amount of money involved, I will not decide anything at the present time, but will wait until the car is sent up to Derby, because since I have proved that the brake squealing is not due to the cycle type mudguards, and the steadying up of the front end of the chassis may do a great deal towards curing the slow speed wheel wobble, I do not see why I should pay this amount.

Please do not think that this letter is sent with any idea of pressing you to send for the car, but rather to advise you of my talk with Mr Sidgreaves. I am perfectly happy to go on running the car as it is for another month or so, and await your advice as to when you are ready.

Kind regards.

Yours sincerely,

A.H.R.Fedden.
