Order No. WA{Mr Wallis} 74 (2)

Weight of Bakelite before immersion = 1.179 grammes
Weight of Bone grey fibre before immersion = 1.452 grammes
Weight of Bakelite after 120 hrs immersion in water = 1.191 grammes
Weight of Bone grey fibre after immersion = 2.114 grammes

Increase in weight
Bakelite .012 grammes
Bone grey fibre .662 grammes

This means that the Bone grey fibre has absorbed 45% of its own weight, of water, whereas the Bakelite has only absorbed 1.0%.
