WRAITH PERFORMANCE. We do not think that there is any further contribution which we can make towards improved perform- ance on Wraith. Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 's car contains these modifications, and he has complained about the detonation. We have pointed out that you cannot get improved performance for nothing. In our opinion, the best way of dealing with the matter is to replace the existing Wraith by the Silver Wraith, which will be about 2 cwts. lighter. BENTLEY V. {VIENNA} (1) Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 's Car. The car we are proposing to allot to Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} was the Coupe. This body has had to be re-built owing to scuttle weakness, and is at present at Park Wards. If, when it returns we can say that we have a satisfactory example of a Coupe on B.V. it can be handed over to Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} immediately. (2) Cracked Valve Seats. The 15,000 mile test on 14-B-V will prove the success, or otherwise, of our modifi- cations to reduce cracked valve seats. Extensive experiments have been carried out modifying the water circulation. (3) Continental B-V. {VIENNA} This body should be cleared at the end of next week, June 4th. (4) It is proposed to use the standard chassis as out- lined in By's note to Cx. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} (5) No. (6) A report will be issued when it is known if our suggested modifications cure the trouble. (7) Since as far as we know it has never been proposed to produce a B.50 car, we do not see that any useful purpose would be served by submitting it to Sales' again. | ||
