Y155. To EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} From HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 6/MA.5. 4. 32. Re. 20/25 HP. FRONT WINGS. Re. your memo EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Tnn.16/H.4.4.32., dealing with MR. Chantrey's Car. We have not any scheme to overcome the trouble complain-ed {J. L. Edwards} of. Our own experience was that after fitting front steel wings to 18.G.IV., they were perfectly steady, whereas with Aluminium wings considerable movement took place. EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} doesn not approve of steel wings due to rusting whilst in service, and has designed Aluminium wings with a thicker gauge. It is probable that an extra stay towards the rear would help to strengthen the present wings. HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /G.W.Hancock. | ||
