COPY C O P Y. REPORT ON Mr.HUGH CAMPBELL'S CAR No. 2064. COMPLAINT OF STEERING WOBBLES. Customer complained of steering wobbles on his car, which was fitted with Rudge-Whitworth detachable wood wheels. The wheels had evidently been badly out of balance when the car was first delivered, but had been balanced on two occasions, once at Barkers, and once at Page Street. Mr.Campbell admitted that after the balancing was done at Page Street the steering was quite alright, but since this was done he had changed a tyre on the offside front wheel, and he now noticed a wobble at one speed, viz:- 34 m.p.h. As Mr.Campbell wanted several jobs doing to his car in the way of alterations to bodywork, and he also wanted an extra petrol tank fitting, it was decided that I should drive the car to Derby. Mr.Campbell suggested that we should fit our standard wheels to his car, fitted with detachable rims, he left the choice of rims to us. The principle reason for him wanting this alteration was that he wanted to carry 4 spare tyres, and it was decided at Works to fit Michelin detachable rims to our standard wood wheels. When the car was finished, I delivered it to Mr.Campbell by road, and he was very pleased indeed with the car, particularly with the extra petrol tank, and the arrangements for carrying the spare rims. As he was not able to try the car then, I arranged to call on him two days later, I did so, and he was very satisfied with the car and said there was no trace of steer- | ||
