Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H24.12.30. [STAMP: DEC 1930] re. BOOMING. With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/MJ.23.12.30. The question of boom periods with our complete finished cars is certainly one of our most serious problems at present and we are continually pressing the Coachbuilders for improvements to be made in the body to alleviate this trouble. We shall certainly be glad, however, to have an opportunity of trying 18-G-4, which you report will have incorporated in it all the improvements you know of from the booming point of view as far as the chassis is concerned. We shall be glad if you will let us know what is done to the chassis to obtain these improvements. We can also keep in touch with this car when the body is having attention as you suggest. We are certainly anxious, as far as possible, to make thebest of the chassis and the body on cars we are turning out to customers, or on those about which complaints are being made. To JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager}'s copy I am attaching copy of memo.referred to, so that he will be able to keep in touch with it when the chassis referred to arrives in London. EP.{G.
