re RRAI. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}19/E5.3.30.

The position is that we have now received the contract and deposit so that we must go ahead with the work in connection with the experimental chassis.

I attach copy of the specification as taken from the draft.

I do not think you will find anything new in this as the points enumerated were all dealt with at the Verrey's Restaurant conference in November last.

Re Delivery, in discussion we were talking about 4/5 months for the experimental cars, a month for the tests to be carried out and then 6 months for the first production chassis from the date of completion of experimental tests.

This added up to approximately 12 months and, in order to be on the safe side for contract purposes we put in 14 months or earlier if possible for deliveries to commence from the date of signing the contract, the deliveries then to be at the rate of 4 per week.

Delivery constitutes delivery at Derby to the carrier.

As regards the specification to which the chassis are to be built, there are one or two points requiring consideration and attention other than those enumerated in the specification, such as switches for back lamps, see Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E4.3.30, modification to clutch as per item 7 of minutes of Verrey's restaurant conference, the standard rear wheel carrier is agreed to be accepted, throttle stop, see Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E4.3.30; oil filter modification, see Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E4.3.30; air cleaner - we said in the minutes of the Verrey's Restaurant conference that we now had a carburetter to which America could attach an air cleaner so presumably this carburetter will be used.

In regard to the horn, Mr.Beaver said they would take the standard Klaxon but if Oy. can show us something which is as good or better and no more expensive, we of course have no objection.
