X4522 Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.10/KW. 6th October, 1934. Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM 1. For the attention of Mr. Spicer. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 5th inst. We shall therefore not expect the Bumper here until Wednesday or Thursday. We are certainly interested in the point you mention in your other letter. Although we are satisfied that our method of Bumper attachment is perfectly satisfactory for the plain Bumper, the extra weight and movement of your Bumper may cause the attachment to be too highly stressed. You may not realise that we use 3½% nickel steel for these parts. If you can let us have sketches showing the methods you prefer, we will take the matter up with our Design Department. Thanking you for the trouble you have taken, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
