NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE 21 ELDON PLACE, BARRAS BRIDGE. 21st June, 1938 YOUR REF. OUR REF. JNL/KM S. Grylls Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr. Grylls, In reply to your letter of the 17th of June I am sending you through official channels 2 bushes to your print EX.31491. It is obvious which of the 2 bushes is which, one is Ferobestos made throughout in oil, the other is plain Ferobestos in/which there is no oil. We make both types as standard, but, of course, we have not a mould to this exact dimension. The wall strength is therefore weakened somewhat by excessive machining but I am hoping that the bush will be housed and/in these circumstances it will probably last long enough for your purpose. We have prepared both oiled and unoiled so that you may have two grades of coefficient of friction to try. With kind regards, Yours very truly, FERODO LIMITED J Longley Chief Chemist & Director. | ||
